Content

The Microsoft Updates Discovery fails when scanning the wsusscn2.cab file for patch data into TPM. The failure is due to a patch format change in the MS cab file.

** For TPM 5.1.0.2 customers, you must be at Fixpack 2 and Interim Fix 06 level, and then apply tcdriver fix 5.1.0.2.2192.77 available at the OPAL link below.

** For TPM 5.1.1.0 customers, if you are running on the GA code version without any fixes installed, you must apply tcdriver fix 5.1.1.1.2395.30 available at the OPAL link below.

A new MS_WSUS.tcdriver may be obtained from the OPAL catalog (link below). Once downloaded the new driver may be installed as follows.

To install this update follow these directions (as tioadmin):
1. stop TPM
2. $TIO_HOME/tools/tc-driver-manager.sh|cmd listAllStr (make a note of the MS_WSUS tcdriver version in the output)
2. move the original $TIO_HOME/drivers/MS_WSUS.tcdriver to a backup location
3. copy the new (attached) MS_WSUS.tcdriver into $TIO_HOME/drivers/ and confirm the ownership and permissions match existing tcdrivers
4. $TIO_HOME/tools/tc-driver-manager.sh|cmd fid MS_WSUS -skipimport
5. $TIO_HOME/tools/tc-driver-manager.sh|cmd listAllStr
the MS_WSUS version should now be:
TPM5102 users = 5.1.0.2.2192.77
TPM5110 users = 5.1.1.1.2395.30
6. start TPM

Test the Microsoft Updates Discovery again.

APAR IZ10985 has been opened to track this fix for 5.1.0.2 and 5.1.1.0 releases. The APAR will be released with Fixpack 3.
