APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
The MOVE of a COMP-2 data item to a smaller numeric data item
where it is necessary for integer digits to be truncated can
result in a MCH0601 when running such a program compiled with
TGTRLS V7R1M0 (or earlier) on release 7.2 or 7.3.

CORRECTION FOR APAR SE68487 :
-----------------------------
A COBOL runtime PTF will be issued for releases 7.2 and 7.3 so
that the program runs and truncation occurs where needed
without MCH0601.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE68487 :
--------------------------------
None.

Activation Instructions

To get floating point rounding consistency with V7.1 and prior
releases, after applying this PTF you will need to add an environment
variable using the following command:
ADDENVVAR ENVVAR(QIBM_COBOL_FLOAT_ROUND_COMPAT) VALUE(Y) LEVEL(*SYS)
To remove the environment variable enter the following command:
RMVENVVAR ENVVAR(QIBM_COBOL_FLOAT_ROUND_COMPAT) LEVEL(*SYS)
You will need to sign off and sign back on after entering either of the
above commands for the command to take effect on the system.  If you
only want the environment variable to be in effect for your current
job, specify the ADDENVVAR command with LEVEL(*JOB).
