APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-------------------------------------------------
After ESA enables TLSv1.2 to be NIST SP 800-131a compliant on
IBM i 7.3, customer may find that when connects to CIMOM server,
a SSLHandshakeException shows up: Certificates does not confirm
to algorithm constraints. Then connection fails.

CORRECTION FOR APAR 'SE64692' :
-------------------------------
ESA is going to enable TLSv1.2 to be NIST SP 800-131a compliant.
In order to avoid connection failure with ESA, this fix changes
the CIMOM server default OpenSSL certificate algorithm from
SHA1withRSA to SHA512withRSA and RSA 1024 bits to 2048 bits. It
will take effect once the current server certificate is deleted.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR 'SE64692' :
----------------------------------
None.

Activation Instructions

None.

Special Instructions

If you are going to support NIST SP 800-131a strict mode in ESA, you
should do for CIMOM side:
1. Stop CIMOM server.
2. Install CIMOM PTF SI60516 and OpenSSL PTF SI59204 to upgrade OpenSSL
version.
3. Back up "/Qopensys/QIBM/UserData/UME/Pegasus/ssl/keystore". Then
delete this directory and all the files under this.
4. Start CIMOM server, a new certificate should be automatically
created under "/Qopensys/QIBM/UserData/UME/Pegasus/ssl/keystore".
After these steps, ESA should connect to CIMOM server successfully
again.

Default Instructions

THIS PTF CAN BE APPLIED IMMEDIATE OR DELAYED.
