Special Instructions

This PTF provides a refresh of the gif2afp, jpeg2afp, and
tiff2afp (hereafter referred to as xxxx2afp) image transforms of
IBM Infoprint Server for iSeries.  The xxxx2afp transforms run
in the Windows operating environment and this PTF provides a
Windows setup.exe file, which, when executed, will remove the
old version of the transforms and install the new version of the
transforms.

Important instructions for installing this refresh on your
Windows machine:

1. Identify the install path of the transforms that
are currently installed.  The default install path of the old
transforms was "C:\Program Files\IBM Printing Systems\".
The default install path of the new transforms will be
different.
The install path of these new transforms will be:
"C:\Program Files\IBM\Infoprint Transforms\".
2. Backup any user created data. During install of the new
transforms, the old transforms will be removed. If you have
created any user  configuration files, backup these files
prior to installing the new transforms.  You may have also
stored input data or output data in the directories.
To be 100% sure that no user created
configurations or data are lost during this install,
make a backup copy of the entire directory
structure, including subdirectories, of the install path. For
example, C:\Program Files\IBM Printing Systems\... if the
default install path was previously used.
3. This PTF will place a setup.exe in the i5 Integrated
File System at
/QIBM/ProdData/InfoprintServer/Transforms/Install/Image.
4. Using Windows explorer, navigate to
/QIBM/ProdData/InfoprintServer/Transforms/Install/Image/setup.ex
e
5. Double-click setup.exe and follow directions..

When the setup.exe executes the screens displayed
are dependent on the version of the image transforms
that are currently installed on your machine.

If the original version of the image transforms is installed
when setup.exe executes:

1. The Welcome screen will appear.  Click Next.
2. The Destination Folder screen will appear.   Accept the
default path of "C:\Program Files\IBM\Infoprint Transforms" or
click Browse to choose a different location.  Click Next.
3. The Ready to Install the Program screen will appear.  Click
Install.
4. If an older version of the transforms exists, a screen  "An
older version of the IBM Infoprint Transforms was found, choose
Yes on the next dialog to uninstall it." will appear.  Click OK.
5. A confirmation screen is displayed, asking you to confirm the
deletion of the old version.  Choose Yes.   PLEASE NOTE:
Choosing Yes will delete all of the old transform product files
and subdirectories in
C:\Program Files\IBM Printing Systems.
If you choose No, the installation of the new code will
proceed and there will be two versions of the transforms as a
result. This will cause confusing results and is not
recommended.
6. The installation of the new transforms is now complete.

If version 2.2.0.200 or later is installed, when setup.exe executes:
1.A screen "This setup will perform an upgrade of 'IBM Infoprint
Transforms (prior version number)'.  Do you wish to continue? will
appear.
Click Yes.
2. The previous version of the transforms will be removed and a
a screen "Resuming the InstallShield Wizard for IBM Infoprint
Transforms (new version number)" will appear.  Click Next.
3. A screen "InstallShield Wizard Complete" will appear.  Click Finish.
4. The installation of the new transforms is now complete.

Usage Notes:

1. The default config file(-C parameter) will now be:
C:\Program Files\IBM\Infoprint Transforms\xxxx2afp\xxxx2afp.cfg
2. The default working directory(-wrkdir parameter) will now be:
C:\Program Files\IBM\Infoprint Transforms\xxxx2afp
3. The default path for resource files (-respath parameter) will
now be: C:\Program Files\IBM\Infoprint Transforms\config

Editing Your Windows Path
If you put the directory that contains the transform executables
in your Windows path, you can run the transform command from any
directory.  By default, this path is now
"C:\Program Files\IBM\Infoprint Transforms\bin"
