Special Instructions

After the fix has been applied, follow the steps below to update the
firmware used by 2CE3 and 2CE4 Ethernet adapters:

1) Vary off all Ethernet line descriptions that are configured with a
resource name associated with a 2CE3 or 2CE4 Ethernet adapter. The
WRKHDWRSC *CMN command can be used to show the resource names
associated with 2CE3 or 2CE4 Ethernet adapters.

2) For each 2CE3 or 2CE4 adapter on the system, vary on an Ethernet
line description that is configured with a resource name associated
with the adapter, specifying RESET(*YES) on the VRYCFG command. For
example, VRYCFG CFGOBJ(ETHLINE) CFGTYPE(*LIN) STATUS(*ON) RESET(*YES).

After one Ethernet line on each 2CE3 or 2CE4 adapter on the system has
been varied on successfully using the RESET(*YES) parameter, the
firmware for the adapter has been updated and any other Ethernet line
descriptions configured with resource names associated with those
adapters can be varied on normally, without using the RESET(*YES)
parameter.
