APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • C2PACMON abend recovery does not remove UNIX exit routines.

This could lead to ABEND0C4 during the next start of C2PACMON.

Local fix

  • Disable collection of UNIX file/directory access events by
removing OPTION CAPTUREUSSEVENTS.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: Users of zSecure Access Monitor capturing    *
*                 USS events.                                  *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: zSecure Access Monitor recovery leaves  *
*                      UNIX exits in place in case of task     *
*                      abnormal end.                           *
*                      It may cause 0C4 abends (possibly in    *
*                      other address spaces) at next startup.  *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF provided.                      *
****************************************************************
During startup, 0C4 abends may occur because
zSecure Access Monitor Recovery does not delete UNIX exits
at abnormal task end.

Problem conclusion

  • zSecure Access Monitor has been modified so that
recovery removes UNIX exit routines to avoid abends
during next startup.
