OA60683: SYNTAX ERRORS PARSING THE CONTENTS OF /ETC/PROFILE

APAR status

Error description

• Syntax errors parsing the contents of /etc/profile.
  
  Examples:
  
  CKR0984 12 Invalid EPR_TK1 list element type field name
  "_BPX_SHAREAS=REU" at ETCPROF line 255
  CKR0987 12 Syntax error: end of file expected instead of field
  name at "_BPX_SHAREAS=REU" on ETCPROF line 255
  
  and
  
  CKR0984 12 Invalid EPR_TK1 list element type delimiter ";;" at
  ETCPROF line 186
  CKR0987 12 Syntax error: end of file expected instead of
  delimiter at ";;" on ETCPROF line 186
  

Local fix

• For the first example, change the specification of the
  environment variable from:
  
  _BPX_SHAREAS=REUSE
  
  to:
  
  export _BPX_SHAREAS=YES
  
  (YES is the same as REUSE)
  
  otherwise, code the following in SETUP PREAMBLE (SE.3) to
  suppress the warning messages:
  
  supp msg=(984,987)

  When zSecure processes reports that require UNIX '/etc/profile'
  file content stored in a CKFREEZE to be processed, the program
  might issue MSGCKR0984 which begins with the text "Invalid
  <name> list element ..." and MSGCKR0987 which indicates a
  syntax error.
  

Problem conclusion

• zSecure Audit has been modified so that it processes UNIX
  '/etc/profile' file content correctly.
