OA55836: PDSE DIB LATCH NOT FREED AFTER CANCEL OF JOB

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• DIB LATCH was not freed after job CANCEL . The cleanup
  routine for IGWLHJIN has not released the DIB latch.

  The Logrec entry may also contain the PDSE data set name as
  displayed in the IGW031I message.

• Using V SMS,PDSE1,FREELATCH command to release the 'orphaned'
  DIB Latch.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
  * Canceling a job while a PDSE is being opened can result in   *
  * PDSE failing to release a latch, which will eventually be    *
  * released by the end of memory resource manager. This has a   *
  * side effect of causing other open attempts for the same PDSE *
  * to be delayed until the latch is eventually release.         *
  * The condition is normally indicated by both a IGW038A        *
  * message indicating potential problems and following a PDSE   *
  * ANALYSIS invocation, a IGW031I PDSE ANALYSIS report with the *
  * message "++ Unable to latch DIB". When the latch is in this  *
  * state, issuing a PDSE REFRESH of the affected data set is    *
  * not advised, as it will prevent further PDSE ANALYSIS        *
  * commands from executing until the latch condition has been   *
  * resolved.                                                    *
