Problem(Abstract)
When you use IBM® Rational® Purify® with an IBM Rational PurifyPlus™ license key, you receive an error. This can also happen when you start IBM Rational Quantify® or IBM Rational PureCoverage®.
Symptom
You get one of the following error messages.
Failed to check out a key for PurifyNT:
FLEXlm Error -5, No such feature exists.
FLEXlm Error -15, Cannot connect to license server.
Failed to check out a key for RationalSuiteEnterprise:
FLEXlm Error -5, No such feature exists.
FLEXlm Error -15, Cannot connect to license server.
Failed to check out a key for DevelopmentStudio:
FLEXlm Error -5, No such feature exists.
FLEXlm Error -15, Cannot connect to license server.
Failed to check out a key for RoseRealTimeDevelopmentStudio:
FLEXlm Error -5, No such feature exists.
FLEXlm Error -15, Cannot connect to license server.
Cause
The license usage mapper configuration is not correct.
Resolving the problem
- Open the License Key Administrator.
- Click Settings on the main menu.
- Click License Usage Mapper.
- On the installed products box highlight Purify.
- On the license usage order box select PurifyPlus.
Move the box to the top with the Up and Down button on the right side. Then clear the rest of the products. - Apply steps 4 and 5 for PureCoverage and Quantify. Both products need to get the licenses from Purifyplus.
- Click OK to confirm the changes made and start the product.
Purify, Quantify and PureCoverage now start without license errors.
