Problem

When installing IBM® Maximo® Asset Management on a Microsoft® Windows® 2012 server, errors occur.

Symptom

IBM Maximo Asset Management base solutions installer (from the launchpad) executes with errors on servers running the Microsoft Windows 2012 operating system. The installation does not complete successfully.

Environment

Maximo 7.5 installed on servers running the Windows 2012 operating system .

Diagnosing The Problem

Error messages are shown.

Resolving The Problem

1. Manually install middleware and configure it for use with Maximo Asset Management. The 7.5 middleware installer (run from an admin workstation) does not support installation and automatic middleware configuration to a remote server running Windows 2012. You must individually install and configure the Web server, database, and directory server. See the manual install and configuration instructions in the Maximo Asset Management Installation Guide for more information.

2. Install Maximo Asset Management on a supported platform such as Microsoft Windows 2008. If Maximo is already installed on Windows 2008, proceed to the next step.

3. Deploy the Maximo ear file from the Windows 2008 server to the Windows 2012 server that was manually configured in Step 1.
