Problem
This technote explains why attempts to start the IBM® Rational® ClearCase® Report Builder on Microsoft® Windows® results in no visible reports displayed.
Symptom
After clicking on the various reports, located in the left-hand pane, Report Builder displays a blank interface.

Cause
The issue may be due to another instance of Perl (such as ActivePerl or Oracle) that is installed on the host which is conflicting with the Rational shipped version of Perl (CCPerl or RatlPerl) that is used by Report Builder.
The following is a list of possible causes:
- The PATH environment variable may include a path (ahead of ClearCase) that is selecting another Perl instance
- A PERL environment variable is selecting another perl instance before ClearCase
Resolving The Problem
One of the following solutions can be used to resolve the issue allowing the Report Builder to function properly:
- Modify the PATH environment variable to first select the ClearCase Perl version in C:\Program Files\Rational\ClearCase\lib before other perl instances.
- Update the PERL environment variable to look first in the C:\Program Files\Rational\ClearCase\lib directory for the correct version of PERL
- Uninstall the third party version of Perl to avoid the application conflict.
