    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: INCORROUT SPACEF generated during *
    *                      RUNSTATS on a LOB tablespace.           *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply corrective PTF when available *
    ****************************************************************
When the user executed RUNSTATS on a LOB table space with
greater than 2 TB of data, the SPACEF statistics were
    incorrectly set in SYSIBM.SYSTABLESPACE and
    SYSIBM.SYSTABLEPART catalog tables.

Incorrect SPACEF statistics were generated as a result
of using an internal variable which was not large enough
    to hold the correct value.

This issue can also occur during the execution of STOSPACE
    utility.

When RUNSTATS is executed on a LOB tablespace, the SPACEF
column in SYSIBM.SYSTABLESPACE was incorrectly set to zero.

This was as a result of not setting the intermediate
variable with the SPACE statistics before calling
    the catalog update routine.

Problem conclusion

  • Code was modified to set the SPACEF value correctly in
    SYSIBM.SYSTABLESPACE and SYSIBM.SYSTABLEPART catalog tables.
The internal variables which were used to hold the
intermediate SPACEF value were made larger.

Code was also modified to pass the correct SPACE values
to the catalog access routines, so that the correct SPACEF
value will be stored in SYSTABLESPACE.
