APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Warning No 222 SM Warning: 248, The requested delete
was ignored because data retention protection is turned on in
the  storage manager.
TSM has changed its behavior in 8.1. The warning being received
is incorrect. CMOD is not trying to delete a file but to rename
an old resource. This is now prohibited. Prior to TSM 8.1, the
error could only be triggered by attempting a delete.
This problem has already been addressed in version 10.1 of CMOD.
