Error description
In TPC 5.1 when changing authentication method from local OS to LDAP authentication within TIP, backup steps are required. At this time there is a need to document additional back up steps to allow recovery of Cognos functionality after the conversion. Currently when running restoreConfig the IBM Cognos 8.ear Dir is lost. The resulting symptom will be non-functional reports accessed by the TPC Web GUI. Documentation is being updated. A Websphere/TIP defect is needed to implement a fix to the restoreConfig script.
Local fix
If configuration is not preserved, in a new installation the recovery requires uninstall of TPC components and reinstall of TPC. If a viable system backup exists the IBM Cognos 8.ear directory will need to be restored. It may also be necessary to contact support for further assistance.

Problem conclusion
Updated and reorganized two existing information center topics: "Removing an LDAP repository from the federated repositories" and "Adding an LDAP repository to the federated repositories". Added step 1c (Back up the IBM Cognos 8.ear directory) and 2b (Restore the IBM Cognos 8.ear directory that you backed up in step 1c. For the Windows operating systems, enter the xcopy command to replace the contents of this directory).
