Error description
C programs (like EDCICONV or REXX-VSAMIO) writing data with record length > 115 bytes might ABEND. The ABEND could be indicated by messages like: CEE0374C CONDITION = CEE3200S (Segment Translation Exception) CEE3322C EXECUTION ABNORMALLY TERMINATED WITH USER-ABEND CODE 4082 AND REASON CODE 0004. CEE3322C EXECUTION ABNORMALLY TERMINATED WITH USER-ABEND CODE 4083 AND REASON CODE 0002.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All LE/C for z/VSE run-time users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1.When processing a VSAM file that has * * a logical record length greater than * * 115 bytes and that record is being * * processed with a user buffer area, a * * program check or abend can occur. * * Conditions such as MSGCEE3200S may be * * reported. Or ABENDU4083 with RSN04/02 * * or ABENDU4082 RSN04 may be issued. * * * * Additional keywords : * * EDCICONV REXX VSAMIO * * * * 2.Correct EDC0TCPM linkbook. * * 3.Correct EDCCMI sample source code. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. * **************************************************************** 1.When preparing internal debugging tracing information a buffer overflow can occur in stack storage that later results in a program check during use of the callers stack storage. 2.Re-instate EDCTCPMA include in EDC0TCPM link book. 3.Correct source code in supplied sample EDCCMI.C.
Problem conclusion
1.Internal debugging tracing information has been limited to the largest available area (115 bytes) per entry. 2. EDC0TCPM linkbook now correctly includes EDCTCPMA. 3. Supplied sample EDCCMI.C corrected to execute as expected.
