Error description

  • Upon a z/OS FTP client connection attempt to a remote FTP
server using FTP CLIENT API with debug enabled, the error
message EZA2862I gets issued while processing a SOCKS
configuration file with definitions containing DIRECT,
and SOCKD, SOCKD4, or SOCKD5 statements that appear to be in
    correct syntaxes. For example:

DIRECT a.a.a.a/nn ; FTP server definition
      SOCKD5 @=xxx.yyy.zzz a.a.a.a b.b.b.b ; socks server definition

Message EZA2862I gets issued for the first statement in error
    follows:

EZA2862I Error parsing SOCKS configuration file
<socks_config_file> on line <nn> - use of SOCKS
               has been disabled.

Message EZA2862I gets issued for the second statement after
the first statement is commented out.

With debug parameter -d specified on ftp command or DEBUG FLO
option specified in FTP client's FTPDATA, the following debug
messages will be seen for the processing errors:

CY2837 get_destination: ip_V4_address or number of bits is
             incorrect or missing
CY2953 get_server: socks server address is missing or
             incorrect in @=xxx.yyy.com x.x.x.x y.y.y.y

These errors should not have occurred because the syntaxes of
the statements appeared to be correct.
