PI09301: REXX EXEC INVOKING FTP IS NOT GETTING DATA OFF THE STACK

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In z/OS 2.1, REXX exec invoking FTP is not getting data off the
  stack.  REXX is treating the queued commands it is reading as
  commands external to this host command environment.  It does not
  find them and issues message IKJ56500I for each of the commands.
  Alternatively, the program just sits and waits at a prompt for
  data input.  This worked in z/OS 1.13.
  

Local fix

• Run your REXX exec from TSO READY or change your FTP to the
  alias EZAFTPLC.

  From z/OS V2R1, FTP is required to be in the section AUTHCMD
  of IKJTSOxx. FTP is TSO authorized and thus the REXX stack
  associated with it is authorized as well. The existing FTP code
  has problem accessing the authorized REXX stack.
