PI08513: WHEN USING VIPADISTRIBUTE WITH DYNAMIC PORTS ALL LISTENERS MAY NOT BE REGISTERED WHEN DVIPA IS TAKEN BACK FROM A VIPABACKUP

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• VIPADISTRIBUTE with dynamic ports .  When the DVIPA is taken
  back from a VIPABACKUP, all listeners might not be registered
  with the new owner of the DVIPA.  Netstat VDPT will not show

  A sysplex distributor is configured with at least two DVIPAs
  
  which are distributed, DVIPA1 and DVIPA2. DVIPA1 is defined
  
  with ports to be distributed on the VIPADISTRIBUTE statement.
  
  DVIPA2 does not define any ports, so sysplex distributor will
  
  dynamically be updated when a server binds to DVIPA2. A port
  
  is defined statically on DVIPA1 and an application is
  
  bound to DVIPA2 on the same port.  When a new owner takes
  
  over the DVIPA, listeners on other ports on DVIPA2 are not
  dynamically updated to the distributor.
  

Problem conclusion

• TCPIP is updated to update the distributor for all sockets
  listening on a DVIPA with dynamic port assignment.
