Question

Are Roaming Users supported in Lotus Notes 8.0.x client?

Answer

Roaming Users are not supported in Lotus Notes 8 (Standard Configuration); however, this feature is available in Notes 8 (Basic Configuration).

Support for Roaming Users in the standard configuration of the client was introduced in Lotus Notes and Domino 8.5. For more information, consult the technote "Summary of changes to Roaming User functionality in Notes and Domino 8.5" (#1327275).

Supporting Information:

The Notes 8 client (Standard Configuration) is based on the Eclipse Java-based platform, which makes possible many of the new features in Notes 8. Please note: Using the Notes 8 (Basic Configuration) means you will not have access to some of the key new features that Notes 8 (Standard Configuration) provides.

  • For more information on the Lotus Notes 8 client, see the technote, "What's new in Lotus Notes 8 client?" (#1264877).
  • For more information on Roaming Users, see the Administrator Help topic "Roaming Users".
