Spell check preference is enabled by default

Question

You edit documents using Lotus Notes®, Lotus Documents®, Lotus Spreadsheets®, or Lotus Presentations®, and notice that a red squiggly line appears beneath misspelled words.

Answer

This issue was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# JRED6W9MHL. This is the default spell check behavior of the Lotus Productivity Editors that are delivered with the Notes 8 client (standard configuration).

To disable automatic spell check:

1. From the File menu, choose Preferences --> Spell Check.

2. Disable the checkbox next to "Enable Instant Spell checking."
