Abstract
ServiceLink on VM (green screen or 3270 version) was sunset on 1 July 2009. ServiceLink is now only available through ibm.com/ibmlink on the Web. This document explains what applications are no longer available now that the VM ServiceLink application has been sunset.

When you first logon to IIN, you are presented with a Product Selection menu that includes all of the products you are entitled to use. If you are a SoftwareXCEL customer, you should see IBMLINK in the product list. ServiceLink is an application under IBMLink.

Once you choose IBMLink from the product selection menu, you are taken to the applications available to you in IBMLink.

The ServiceLink applications are the only ones that are affected by the VM Servicelink withdrawal announcement.

With the exception of View Program Listing (VPl), all of these applications are available on the Web version of IBMLink 2000 at http://www.ibm.com/ibmlink. The following enhanced features are also included in the Web version:
  • Tailored fix package for preventive and corrective service.
  • More comprehensive Search which includes additional technical support libraries.
  • Improved PTF ordering capability in PSP.
If you have not yet accessed ServiceLink from the Web, you should do so now. You will need to create an IBM ID in order to access ServiceLink on the Web. This is a straight forward and easy process. There is a "register now" link available at the ibm.com/ibmlink site to self-register for an IBM ID if you do not have an IBM ID yet. Once you have your IBM ID, contact your company Customer Service Administrator (CSA) to complete the registration process, so you can access the ServiceLink applications at ibm.com/ibmlink.

If you need assistance in creating the new IBM ID or using ServiceLink on the internet, contact the IBMLink help desk at 1-800-543-3912 or use the Feedback function.
