We are excited to be making our renowned optimization software, CPLEX Optimization Studio, available to academics through the IBM Academic Initiative. Right from the inception of the product, CPLEX has maintained a close relationship with the academic community, and IBM wants to continue cultivating this proximity by fulfilling the needs of academics who work on solving fundamental problems and who educate future generations of operations researchers. Full versions of the latest releases of the IBM ILOG CPLEX Optimization Studio are available at no-charge, along with professionally-developed courseware, to registered members of IBM Academic Initiative for teaching and non-commercial research.
As businesses, governments and institutions around the world struggle to make sense of the social, political, and economic forces reshaping the globe, they are faced with unprecedented growth in the volume, velocity and variety of information about the world they live and operate in. Business analytics represents a fundamentally new way for individuals and organizations to apply information to making better decisions, optimizing performance and thriving in a changing world.
No-Charge Access to IBM ILOG Optimization Products
In an effort to better serve our Academic Community, IBM provides full-version IBM ILOG Optimization products via IBM's Academic Initiative program, which provides no-charge access to full-version software and professionally developed courseware for non-commercial research and teaching purposes. CPLEX Optimization Studio includes:
- Complete access to IBM ILOG CPLEX Optimizers, powerful mathematical programming solvers for linear, mixed-integer linear, quadratic and quadratically constrained programs, through the IDE, the ILOG Concert APIs in Java, C++, and .NET, or connectors to third party applications.
- Complete access to IBM ILOG CPLEX CP Optimizer, an outstanding and proven constraint programming solver as well, through the IDE or the ILOG Concert API.
- Create optimization models and extend optimization algorithms using the OPL modeling language, the ILOG Concert APIs, or numerous other interfaces and connectors.
By bringing sophisticated analytics from IBM Research, including Operations Research, together with market-leading software, like IBM ILOG Optimization, and business consulting expertise, IBM is helping its clients gain greater precision and predictability out of every decision they make.
