
The purpose of the business rule application assessment is to help you leverage the expertise that our consultants gain from delivering and deploying business rule applications—during the planning phase—for your new application. This reduces project risk and ensures a smooth and successful implementation.
How it works
The assessment is performed over a period of approximately two weeks, depending on the complexity of your business problem and its solution. We will assess your needs by gathering your requirements through a set of interviews conducted by a team of IBM professionals consisting of a project manager, a business rule architect, and a business policy analyst or a business rule consultant.
During the assessment we will:
Interview your application’s stakeholders in order to understand the business case and the business processes involved
Gather your high-level business, functional, interface and integration requirements
Compile our findings and devise a WebSphere ILOG Business Rule Management System (BRMS)-based plan for a solution, including high-level architecture and design
Develop a high-level plan for application development with a break down of tasks, effort required and skills needed
Give you a detailed assessment report, including:
- A business case overview
- The functional context
- Technical requirements
- The application’s architecture and components
- A proposed solution
- A new approach to your project
