SOA Concepts
- VW003 - Introducing the Value and Governance Model of Service-Oriented Architecture (WEB-BASED TRAINING)
This course is the first of a suite of service-oriented architecture (SOA) Web-based training (WBT) courses aimed at enabling IT Architects to participate in and evaluate SOA engagements. It provides an introduction to the IBM vision of SOA but does not promote or teach using specific IBM products.
- VW004: Designing SOA Solutions with Project, Technical, and Operational Governance (WEB-BASED TRAINING)
This course is the second in a suite of three SOA Web-based training courses designed to enable IT architects to evaluate and participate in SOA engagements. The course deals primarily with concepts, using a combination of animation and diagrams to help students see the concepts in action.
- VW005: Technologies and Standards for SOA Project Implementation (WEB-BASED TRAINING)
This course is the third of a suite of three Web-based training courses designed to enable IT architects to participate in evaluating, designing, and recommending products and technologies for service-oriented architecture (SOA) implementation.
- WS007: Getting Started with SOA
- VS007: Getting Started with SOA (INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE)
- ZS007: Getting Started with SOA (SELF-PACED VIRTUAL CLASS)
This is a course to teach and promote best practices for Service Oriented Architecture using Rational Software products in conjunction with the appropriate WebSphere and Tivoli software products.
Design and implementation
- WM870 CICS V3 Advanced Application Development for SOA and Web Services
- VM870 CICS V3 Advanced Application Development for SOA and Web Services (INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE)
This advanced-level course teaches students how to design, code, and debug CICS application programs that utilize the CICS Web Support and CICS Web Services features in CICS TS V3. Through both instructor-led lectures and extensive hands-on exercises in COBOL, students learn about the aspects of CICS Web Support that form the foundation for creating and debugging CICS Web Services. The course covers topics such as creating and implementing CICS applications as Web services, developing CICS server and client applications, and implanting security measures in CICS for Web support and Web services applications.
- WS008: Designing SOA Solutions Using IBM SOA Foundation
- VS008: Designing SOA Solutions Using IBM SOA Foundation (INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE)
- ZS008: Designing SOA Solutions Using IBM SOA Foundation (SELF-PACED VIRTUAL CLASS)
This course helps students develop the skills needed to design SOA solutions. You'll learn about SOA design principles, patterns, and IBM methodologies for SOA design, as well as SOA Foundations products that can be used to gather requirements, identify services, model business processes, and realize SOA solutions.
SOA Governance
- WS811 IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository V8 for Administrators
- VS811 IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository V8 for Administrators (INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE)
- ZS811: IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository V8.0 for Administrators (Self-Paced Virtual Class)
This 2-day, self-paced course is designed to teach you how to install, secure, and maintain IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository. IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository provides a robust, centrally managed system of record for service artifacts within a service-oriented architecture (SOA). Your organization can get more business value from your SOA by using WebSphere Service Registry and Repository to store, access, and manage service metadata so that services can be effectively shared, managed, and governed. This course uses a combination of lectures and hands-on lab exercises. The course begins by introducing you to the concept of service registries and to the architecture of WebSphere Service Registry and Repository. In subsequent units and exercises, you learn how to install, deploy, and administer WebSphere Service Registry and Repository environments. You also learn how to troubleshoot and configure role-based security on WebSphere Service Registry and Repository.
- WS751 IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository V7.5 for Administrators
- VS751 IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository V7.5 for Administrators (INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE)
In this two-day course, through a combination of lectures and hands-on lab exercises, students learn how to install, deploy, and administer WebSphere Service Registry and Repository environments. The course begins with an overview of service registries, and then covers installation and deployment. Subsequent topics include the architecture and information model behind WebSphere Service Registry and Repository, graphical user interfaces (UIs), security, and administrative scripting. The hands-on lab exercises in this course provide students with direct experience working on WebSphere Service Registry and Repository administration tasks.
- WS752 IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository V7.5 for Developers
- VS752 IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository V7.5 for Developers (INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE)
This 3-day, instructor-led course teaches you how to use and customize WebSphere Service Registry and Repository to work with the IT infrastructure of your organization. The course begins by introducing you to the concept of service registries and to the architecture of WebSphere Service Registry and Repository. In subsequent units and exercises, you learn how to work with the web UI and Business Space user interfaces, customize the service metamodel, author governance policies, and enable governance through policies. You also learn how to integrate Service Registry into three enterprise service bus solutions: WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus, WebSphere Message Broker, and WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliance.
- WS800 IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository V8 for Developers
- VS800 IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository V8 for Developers (INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE)
This 3-day instructor-led course teaches you how to use and customize WebSphere Service Registry and Repository to work with the IT infrastructure of your organization. The course uses an interactive combination of instructor-led lectures and hands-on lab exercises.
- ZS805 Fundamentals of IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository V8 (SELF-PACED VIRTUAL)
This self-paced virtual course teaches you the purpose, architecture, and information model of IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository V8. This course uses a combination of self-paced lectures and demonstrations. You learn how to perform administrative and configuration tasks with the web UI web application. A demonstration introduces you to the two web user interfaces: the web UI and Business Space.
