This course is the third of a suite of three Web-based training courses designed to enable IT architects to participate in evaluating, designing, and recommending products and technologies for service-oriented architecture (SOA) implementation.
- SW814: Adopting Service-Oriented Architecture on System I (WEB-BASED TRAINING)
This Web-based training course is based on WebSphere Development Studio for System i V5R4 and WebSphere Development Studio Client for System i Version V6.0.1. This course introduces the student to service-oriented architecture (SOA) concepts. It illustrates how System i based solutions can utilize SOA to enable increased business flexibility and respond more quickly to marketplace challenges and opportunities. It also provides guidance and examples on how to leverage existing investments in System i solutions in an SOA environment, rather than using a rip and replace approach.
- WS007: Getting Started with SOA
- VS007: Getting Started with SOA (INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE)
This is a course to teach and promote best practices for Service Oriented Architecture using Rational Software products in conjunction with the appropriate WebSphere and Tivoli software products.
Design and implementation
- WU004 Implementing B2B Solutions with the IBM WebSphere DataPower B2B Appliance XB60
Through lecture and hands-on exercises, students learn how to configure a B2B gateway to connect partners and pass payload to a destination. Topics covered include security processing of incoming and outgoing transactions, auditing of transactions sent through the appliance, receiving AS2 and AS3 messages and confirming receipt using MDN messages, and configuring SSL to and from the DataPower Appliance. Students also learn how to enforce service level policies to manage traffic to and from the DataPower Appliance, troubleshoot services using logs and probes, and utilize best practices and architectural scenarios for effectively using DataPower Appliances in the service-oriented architecture (SOA).
- WM870: CICS V3.2 Advanced Application Development for SOA and Web Services
- VM870: CICS V3.2 Advanced Application Development for SOA and Web Services (INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE)
This advanced-level course teaches students how to design, code, and debug CICS application programs that utilize the CICS Web Support and CICS Web Services features in CICS TS V3.2. Through both instructor-led lectures and extensive hands-on exercises in COBOL, students learn about the aspects of CICS Web Support that form the foundation for creating and debugging CICS Web Services. The course covers topics such as creating and implementing CICS applications as Web services, developing CICS server and client applications, and implanting security measures in CICS for Web support and Web services applications.
- SW299: Managing WebSphere Development Projects
This course provides an overview of the products in the WebSphere family and shows how each product fits into a larger picture, and describes the functionality of the applications. It also introduces key e-business terminology, Web-based application architectures, and object technology concepts.
- WS008: Designing SOA Solutions Using IBM SOA Foundation
- VS008: Designing SOA Solutions Using IBM SOA Foundation (INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE)
This course helps students develop the skills needed to design SOA solutions. You'll learn about SOA design principles, patterns, and IBM methodologies for SOA design, as well as SOA Foundations products that can be used to gather requirements, identify services, model business processes, and realize SOA solutions.
- WB553: IBM WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances — Advanced Topics
- VB553: IBM WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances — Advanced Topics (INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE)
In this course, students learn about the use of the IBM WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliance XI50 as a purpose-built hardware ESB for simplified deployment and hardened security. Topics include integration with IBM WebSphere MQ and WebSphere JMS, using FTP, enriching messages with database data, and performing any-to-any or binary transformation using IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender and Contivo Analyst mappings.
- WB557 Administration of IBM WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances
- VB557 Administration of IBM WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances (INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE)
In this 3-day instructor-led course, you will learn how to perform system administration tasks for the IBM WebSphere DataPower SOA appliances. Students learn about the available management interfaces such as the command line interface (CLI), Web GUI, and the XML Management Interface, and how to use these interfaces to perform various administrative tasks such as upgrading firmware, monitoring system performance, configuring user accounts and domains, and much more.
SOA Governance
