In this 5-day instructor-led course, students learn the fundamental skills required to implement IBM WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances. Through a combination of instructor-led lectures and hands-on lab exercises, students learn how to implement the key use cases for the DataPower appliances, including XML acceleration and threat protection, authentication, authorization, and auditing (AAA), Web service virtualization, Web services security, and integrating with IBM WebSphere MQ and Java Message Service (JMS).

In this course, you will learn about the use of the IBM WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliance XI50. Topics include integration with IBM WebSphere MQ and WebSphere JMS, using FTP, enriching messages with database data, and performing any-to-any or binary transformation using IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender and Contivo Analyst mappings. Additionally, this course also teaches how to integrate the IBM WebSphere DataPower SOA appliances with other IBM and third-party software, such as IBM Tivoli Access Manager, IBM DB2, IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository (WSRR), and UDDI registries.

Through lecture and hands-on exercises, students learn how to configure a B2B gateway to connect partners and pass payload to a destination. Topics covered include security processing of incoming and outgoing transactions, auditing of transactions sent through the appliance, receiving AS2 and AS3 messages and confirming receipt using MDN messages, and configuring SSL to and from the DataPower Appliance. Students also learn how to enforce service level policies to manage traffic to and from the DataPower Appliance, troubleshoot services using logs and probes, and utilize best practices and architectural scenarios for effectively using DataPower Appliances in the service-oriented architecture (SOA).

In this 3-day instructor-led course, you will learn how to perform system administration tasks for the IBM WebSphere DataPower SOA appliances. Students learn about the available management interfaces such as the command line interface (CLI), Web GUI, and the XML Management Interface, and how to use these interfaces to perform various administrative tasks such as upgrading firmware, monitoring system performance, configuring user accounts and domains, and much more.
