Business Process Management Curriculum
Market conditions can change at breakneck pace. And unpredictable market forces---such as mergers, acquisitions, regulatory requirements and continued globalization---can inhibit the ability of your company to grow and compete. To meet these and unforeseen business challenges your organization must streamline, monitor and control business processes and integrate your company’s people, process and information for improved agility and responsiveness.
Business process management (BPM) enabled by service oriented architecture (SOA) is the key to meeting these challenges. Support of BPM in WebSphere software follows a holistic approach, supporting all phases of the BPM life cycle, from modeling through development (the assemble phase), deployment (the run phase) and monitoring of business processes.
The BPM oriented WebSphere curriculum mirrors this holistic approach with a deep set of courses across the WebSphere products that enable BPM:
- WebSphere Business Events
IBM WebSphere Business Events is a software system designed specifically for managing the business events flowing across systems and people with the goal of providing timely insight and response. Business events are discovered and described in business terms to meet business objectives based on high-level management goals. IBM WebSphere Business Events allows business users to detect, evaluate, and respond effectively to the impact of business events.
- IBM WebSphere Business Modeler
This curriculum helps the business analyst build skills to define, simulate, and design key performance indicators for a process solution. There are three core courses which were recently updated with new content, including key content for WebSphere Business Modeler Publishing Server. Successful completion of these classes prepares you to earn the IBM Certified Business Process Analyst-WebSphere Business Modeler Advanced designation.
- IBM WebSphere Process Server
At the heart of a BPM oriented WebSphere solution is the WebSphere Process Server. With courses for the System Administrator, Application and Integration Developers, you will learn how to leverage WebSphere Process Server to deploy process integration solutions. You can further specialize your skills with courses in business process choreography and human task management.
- WebSphere Integration Developer
WebSphere Integration Developer is the Eclipse-based tool for building SOA-based BPM and integration solutions across WebSphere Process Server, WebSphere ESB, and WebSphere Adapters. The courses in this curriculum provide a holistic view of developing and deploying process integration solutions and include both introductory and advanced courses for WebSphere Integration Developer and WebSphere Process Server.
- IBM WebSphere Business Monitor
This flexible curriculum provides courses for the Integration Developer who needs implementation skills for WebSphere Business Monitor or a more introductory overview of business activity monitoring for the Business Analyst. Successful completion of this WebSphere Education curriculum will prepare you for the IBM Certified Solution Designer-WebSphere Business Monitor designation.
- IBM WebSphere Business Services Fabric
IBM WebSphere Business Services Fabric is a comprehensive service-oriented architecture (SOA) offering that is designed to extend IBM's Business Process Management (BPM) platform to deliver flexible composite business applications. The WebSphere Education curriculum for WebSphere Business Services Fabric teaches you about composite business services and their value, as well as, the WebSphere Business Services Fabric API and how to leverage WebSphere Business Services Fabric with the other products in the IBM Business Process Management portfolio, including WebSphere Process Server and WebSphere Integration Developer to extend BPM with SOA.
- WebSphere Service Registry and Repository
WebSphere Service Registry and Repository can help you achieve tangible business value from your SOA by enabling better management and governance of your services. The WebSphere Service Registry and Repository system lets you store, access, and manage information about the services (commonly referred to as service metadata) in your SOA. This information is used to select, invoke, govern, and reuse services. The WebSphere Service Registry and Repository curriculum provides skill development across the roles and expertise levels involved in managing your SOA. This curriculum includes an introductory course, as well as, advanced courses specific to the skill needs of developers and administrators.
