Telecon – What every enterprise architect needs to know about the evolution of IMS
Broadcast Date: May 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. EDT / 3:00 p.m. GMT / 4:00 p.m. BST
Speaker: Deepak Kohli, IMS Modernization and IMS SOA enablement, IBM Software Group
Developed for: IT and enterprise architects; IT managers; database administrators and managers
Technical Level: Intermediate
Highlights
Topics:
- Reduce costs by taking advantage of and integrating the proven IMS assets already in place
- Extend access to IMS transactions and data, and reduce the cost of modernization
- Enhance analytics by using the most current version of operational data, which resides in IMS
- Simplify IMS application development tasks, such as updating IMS database and program definitions
Designed to handle mission-critical applications quickly and reliably, IMS is often given little attention by enterprise architects because it is trouble-free. Key integration and access points now enable IMS assets to provide high value as part of a distributed, multi-tier architecture. IMS clients can integrate existing IMS data and transactions into an enterprise architecture to grow their business, reduce costs and meet or beat IT objectives.
Join us for a complimentary teleconference as we identify the things that matter most to enterprise architects and share how IMS can center an IT infrastructure, enabling it for a growing portfolio of emerging technology and strategic initiatives. This session will help you understand how to use IMS to its fullest advantage, in part, by integrating existing IMS data and transactions into your enterprise architecture – often without any changes to the architecture. We’ll discuss standard interfaces, simplifying generation of IMS metadata, and enhancements that enable IMS business event data and monitoring.
Join us after the webcast for a live question-and-answer session. This webcast will also be available for replay after the event.
