This Proof of Technology (PoT) is designed to address the needs of organisations that are adopting SOA through top-down and bottom-up approaches.
Special attention has been given in this PoT to show how business goals, business processes, services, development practices and governance are all linked in one development method that is based on best practices from the thousands of SOA engagements that IBM has completed successfully around the world.
This Proof of Technology is intended for IT Executives and Managers, Line of Business Executives and Managers, Enterprise Architects, and others evaluating SOA solutions. A basic understanding of SOA is required.

SOA in Action Workshops
This free one day workshop gives IT Managers and Architects a chance to experience how IBM products and services can be used to build a complete SOA infrastructure.
During the workshop attendees will gain experience of the IBM SOA Foundation products and learn more about the IBM SOA Entry Points. Attendees will use products including WebSphere Business Modeler, WebSphere Process Server to create an SOA "application". The workshop uses a mix of presentations, demonstrations and hand-on labs with the full products and is designed to be relevant to both business oriented and technology oriented people.
Attendees should complete the workshop with a good grounding in the SOA Foundation product capabilities and the process of implementing composite applications that adhere to a Service Oriented Architecture.

BPM Experience

Objective
The primary goal of this session is to provide technical exposure to the IBM Business Process Management software portfolio, and how the software can be used to address some of the key Business Challenges of today. Some technical presentations will be provided, along with demonstrations of the key capabilities, and the opportunity for hands-on exploration of these capabilities through three short lab exercises. No programming skills are required.
