Kriss is famous for his achievements in athletics where his greatest individual triumph was his Gold Medal in the 1990 European Championships when he also beat David Hemery’s 22 year old British Record.
He began his international athletic career as a member of the 4x400 metre relay squad and will probably always be remembered for helping Britain clinch the Gold and beat the Americans in the World Championships 4x400 metre relay in Tokyo in 1991.
Kriss was awarded the MBE in recognition of his services to the country through athletics.
Lead Product Architect, Maximo Development
Russell is the Lead Product Architect responsible for the Maximo Oil and Gas and Maximo HSE products. He has 14 years of experience working with the Maximo product having joined PSDI in 1998. Russell works closely with our customer base to identify common customer requirements and build these into product. He is also a member of the Maximo Design Governance Board. An Engineer by training, Russell spent 10 years in the aerospace industry working on aircraft systems design before entering the oil and gas industry working for Kennedy and Donkin on the design and implementation of plant control systems. He then moved into programme management before becoming Engineering Manager for Oil and Gas. Russell has a BSc in Aeronautical Engineering and MSc in Electronic Engineering from the University of Salford. He has an MBA from the Manchester Business School where he is also a Visiting Fellow lecturing on the MBA and Computer Science post graduate programs.
Vice President of Tivoli Strategy and Developement
Jamie Thomas is the Vice President of Tivoli Strategy and Development. Tivoli Software provides comprehensive service management solutions which give customers visibility, control and automation to enable them to better manage their infrastructure, operations and processes to more effectively deliver services aligned to business goals.
During the last twenty years, Jamie has held numerous development roles in IBM Software, most recently as the Vice President of Rational development and client support. Prior to that, she served as Vice President of WebSphere Server Development for the Application Integration Middleware Software organization. Prior to that, she served as Director of WebSphere Strategy and Communications.
Director of the IBM Institute for Advanced Security Europe
Martin Borrett is the Director of the IBM Institute of Advanced Security in Europe. He leads the Institute and advises at the most senior level in clients on policy, business, technical and architectural issues associated with security. Martin leads IBM's Security Blueprint work and is co-author of the IBM Redbooks "Introducing the IBM Security Framework and IBM Security Blueprint to Realize Business-Driven Security" and "Understanding SOA Security" . He is Chairman of the European IBM Security User Group community and Chairman of the IBM UKI Technical Consulting Group. He is a member of the IBM Academy of Technology, a Fellow of the BCS, and a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and member of the IET. Martin has a passion for sailing and has represented Great Britain; he is also a keen tennis player.
IBM Security Architect
Vaughan Harper is an IBM Security Architect with 25 years' experience in the IT industry, the last 15 years in IT Security. He spent four years as the EMEA Technical Evangelist for IBM Tivoli Access Manager for e-business, and for the last eight years he has supported IBM Security products in the UK.
Prior to joining the IBM Software Group he consulted, implemented and supported IBM's cryptographic and network security products. Before that he held various software development and system design jobs in the UK and the US. He holds a Masters degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
NIE, C.Eng MIET
An electrical engineer with Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) for 18 years, Sam has focused on asset management for most of his career..He is a Six Sigma Black Belt, and has been responsible for equipment specifications, maintenance policy and delivery, and asset management systems, as well as being a key member of RCM and Strategic Sourcing teams. He also retains a keen interest in PAS55. Sam is a well known member of the UK Maximo community, and sits on the committee of the UK & Ireland Maximo User Group, as well as the Global Tivoli User Group. Sam has spoken previously at the Pulse, Las Vegas conference , in 2008, 2010 and 2011. Married to Paula, Sam lives in rural Northern Ireland. He is active in his local church and enjoys photography (particularly when aircraft are involved) and travel.

Dale is a developer in IBM's Watson Solutions. He is working to transform the incredible Research achievement into a product that can be applied to real-world challenges. Prior to Watson, he spent several years in IBM's Emerging Technologies division - a part of Software Group responsible for looking ahead to tomorrow's technologies. He helped bridge the gap between IBM's Research and Development divisions, identifying ways for future IBM Software products to exploit upcoming technologies.
Gartner Research VP
Will Cappelli is a Gartner Research VP in the Enterprise Management area, focusing on automation, event correlation and fault analysis, management system architectures, and real-time infrastructure issues.
Mr. Cappelli has almost 30 years’ experience in the IT industry. Prior to joining Gartner, he most recently served as director of Research for EMEA at Meta Group and had previously held a variety of analyst and management positions at a number of major research firms, including Forrester/Giga Information Group, Ovum, New Science Associates and Real Decisions Corp.
Mr. Cappelli achieved a BA in Mathematics and Philosphy from Yale University and an MA in Mathematics from Villanova University.
