Abstract
In February 2011, IBM demonstrated it's latest Research breakthroughs in natural language processing and deep question answering. Named Watson, it made history when it was entered into the famously complex US television quiz-show 'Jeopardy!' where it comfortably beat two of the greatest human players ever to appear on the show. Since then, work has focused on bringing these breakthroughs to real-world problems. Dale will talk about the work that has been happening since Jeopardy! and some of the plans for Watson's future.

Topic 2.3 Client session with Northern Ireland Electricity – Maximo and Syclo: Mobilising an Electric Utility

Northern Ireland Electricity manages the Transmission and Distribution network for 800,000 customers in Northern Ireland. Maximo 6 is being mobilised to a team of 80 craftsmen using the Syclo platform. Already deployed for around 10,000 substation inspections per year, this presentation will explain the further deployment of Syclo for all maintenance tasks, in an ISO 9001 environment, looking to PAS 55. It will also discuss enhancements to the Maximo and Syclo platforms to further leverage exceptional Asset Management functionality across the organisation. |
