Will is IBM’s industry marketing and solutions director for big data. In this role, Will is focused on defining the key use cases emerging for big data across vertical markets and shaping IBM’s messages, capabilities and solutions in response. Will is also IBM’s Senior State Executive for Idaho, responsible for community engagement and political advocacy around skills, cyber-security and other issues critical to the establishment of an economy built on data. Will brings over 15 years’ experience as a management consultant and industry marketing professional to his role.

Joe consults with organisations on IT and strategy, helping them to unlock business value from IT investments. He also works with a number of technology companies around their strategy, market positioning and growth. Joe is Director of Cranfield’s IT Leadership Programme and Adjunct Professor at the University of South Australia. The focus of his research and teaching is information systems and technology. Joe has held numerous academic appointments and has published widely in academic, general business and management journals. In 2009 he was awarded the Stafford Beer Medal by the OR Society for his research. His most recent books include Strategic Planning for Information Systems (Wiley) and Customer Relationship Management: Perspectives from the Marketplace (Butterworth-Heinemann). He is currently working on Business Innovation with Information Technology. He is an Editorial Board Member of European Management Journal and the Journal of Information Technology.

Joe Speed leads IBM’s m2m solutions. He previously led worldwide sales for IBM Messaging in Connectivity, and drove IBM’s mobile commerce offerings. Prior to IBM Joe was Director of Solution Architecture at an independent software vendor (ISV) of navigation software for mobile OEMs; Chief Architect at secure messaging ISV Cyclone Commerce (now Axway), contributing to NADA STAR Transport messaging standards; Chief Technology Officer for Identity Management ISV acquired by BMC; and Verizon Wireless Engineer, designing systems for high-speed messaging and managing mobile networks.


John Jackson

CIO, London Borough of Camden

John is CIO at London Borough of Camden, a £1BN turnover government agency and a Director of the London Grid for Learning Trust which provides broadband services to nearly 3000 schools and educational sites in London. John is twice runner up for the IT Excellence Award sponsored by SOCITM / SOLACE and has also spent time in Central Government advising on IT solutions following Lord Laming’s report into the tragic death of Victoria Climbie. John is currently focused on the development of a Borough Digital Strategy, pan London IT collaboration and Council transformation.

Chris works with IBM clients and business partners across all sectors, advising on how to use analytics on big data to improve business outcomes. Chris has over 20 years of IT experience, most of which have been spent in analytics, data warehousing, data integration and business intelligence. Before joining IBM in 2001 Chris worked in telecommunications and insurance, building groundbreaking data warehouses and analytical applications.
