As Rome Fimicino airport has a complicated traffic layout, IBM will not be providing arrival shuttles to the Rome Marriott Park Hotel. Taxis are available (€35 approximately, one way). There is also a Rome Marriott Park Hotel Shuttle Bus (€10 one way) which runs approximately every 30 minutes.

A complimentary daily shuttle bus service will run between the IBM hotels and the Rome Marriott Park. This service consists of 4 routes throughout the city and buses will run throughout the morning and evening. There will be a transportation co-coordinator in each of the hotels during shuttle bus hours to help with any transportation queries.

Please refer to the shuttle bus timetable for bus times, and ensure you make note of your hotel bus route. If you are not staying at an IBM hotel please use the closest pick up point to where you are staying. There is no need to reserve seats on any of the IBM buses during the event; this is a “first come first served” service.

IBM will also be providing transportation to and from all of the social events to all IBM hotels. Daily transfers will be provided during the following peak times;

AIRPORT DEPARTURE TRANSFERS

Anyone planning to use the airport departure transfer service will need to bring their luggage to the Marriott Park Centre for the start of Fridays’ sessions as there will be no transfers between the Marriott Park and the hotels during the day. Please allow additional time before sessions for luggage to be stored. Please note laptops cannot be left at the luggage storage.

IBM will provide departure transfers to Rome Fiumicino airport on Friday afternoon from 13.00 to 16.00 every 15 minutes, “first come first served service”. Each bus will stop at all departure terminals: T1, T3, T5.. Anyone wanting to return to the airport on any other day will need to travel by taxi or use the hotel’s shuttle service which costs €10 each way. Fiumicino airport is approximately 25-30 minutes drive from the Marriott Park and will cost around €40 in a taxi. For further information please ask at the IOD EMEA Information Desk in the registration area.

Please note, we strongly recommend that you leave the Marriott Park at least two and a half hours prior to your flight departure for European flights and at least three hours for non-European flights.

TAXIS

You will find special taxi ranks at the airports and throughout the city. There will also be a small taxi rank situated outside the entrance to the Rome Marriott Park Hotel during peak times. Taxi fares are calculated on a basic rate plus a fixed rate for each kilometre travelled.
