The independent Paper Selection Committee comprised of IBM customers, Business Partners, Associations and IBM industry experts has been formed to ensure the development of a world-class, compelling Conference agenda that is relevant for both a technical and business audience.

The Paper Selection Committee is responsible for reviewing all paper submissions and their recommendations are based upon sessions that are key and topical for the EMEA market. Their focus is to address industry-specific challenges and opportunities for those involved in sectors such as: Financial Markets and Services, Insurance, Government, Consumer Products and Retail, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Industrial Products and Manufacturing, and Communications Service Providers.

In addition, the priority for the Paper Selection Committee is papers that best showcase the value of Information On Demand, particularly as delivered by:

Feedback from Information On Demand EMEA Conference 2009 held in Berlin, which indicated a high-level of interest in customer case-study presentations, is an important factor for this year’s programme. Therefore, sessions that demonstrate best practices and show how organisations are gaining real business value through the implementation of an Information On Demand strategy will be included.

  • Patrizia Andreetta, Database Administrator, Electrolux Italy

    Patrizia has been working for Electrolux since 1987, after previous experience as Application Programmer in an italian public software company. She is currently a Database Administrator within the Global Business Application Department. She has extensive experience and knowledge in Relational Database (DB2 for z/OS - DB2 for LUW - DB2 for i/Series - Ms Sqlserver) and hierarchical database (IMS) in terms of datamodeling, tuning and performance. She is an IBM Certified Database Administrator for z/OS and for LUW.

  • Jochen Bremshey, Director IS&T Division Entertainment Service Europe, arvato distribution GmbH

    After studying business economics at the University of Cologne Jochen started to work for Bertelsmann in April 1989. As a junior consultant he started at Bertelsmann Distribution and supported various reorganisation projects in the publishing distribution. In the mid-90ths he joined a Pan-European Distribution project of BMG (Bertelsmann Music Group) as a project leader. Together with a European project team he created and rolled out a Pan European Distribution IT-System in Germany, the UK and France. Later he supported the roll-out of this distribution system in the US and Italy. For six years now he has been head of the “IS & T Entertainment Services Europe” department and is responsible for IT issues at the arvato locations in Germany, UK, France and Italy.

  • Ced Bufton, CEO, Bidetime Ltd

    Ced is founder and CEO of Bidetime Limited, one of the largest IBM Cognos partners in the UK and a lead supplier to the Healthcare market. Ced began his computing career programming mainframes in the 1970s. He founded Bidetime in 1984 as a vehicle for his Data Management consultancy and, after involvement in large systems design in multiple industries, ‘discovered’ Cognos PowerPlay whilst project managing a Hospital Information System implementation. Seeing this as far more ‘intellectually stimulating’ than Project Management, Ced partnered with Cognos in 1995 and since then has been utilizing BI and Performance Management products to ‘help the Healthcare industry get better with information’. Ced and his colleagues have developed their ‘Performing Healthcare’ model, recognized with a ‘Powered by IBM Cognos Solution’ award in 2008. Ced is an active member of the IBM Cognos partner community and is often heard ‘contributing’ his views at partner and user conferences!

  • Klaus Christof, EMEA Business Process Management, Citibank NA in New York, Frankfurt Branch

    Klaus Christof leads the EMEA Business Process Management solution team in Citigroup Markets and Banking Technology Frankfurt. Based on the IBM FileNet P8 Business Process Management System, BPM solutions for Citigroup EMEA are provided. The provided service portfolio includes the full project lifecycle from acquisition, business process analysis, implementation and support. The provided solutions include electronic archiving, records management and complex BPM solutions for various clients within Citigroup across the EMEA region. Typical areas in which the Citigroup's BPM solutions are implemented are high volume processes like credit cards processing, customer application processing, loans and mortgage processing and customer service. Klaus has more than 12 years of experience in the Business Process Management sector and has a Dipl. Ing. (FH) degree in Electrical Engineering. Prior to joining Citigroup in 2005, Klaus worked with two different consulting companies focused on Business Process Management solutions in the financial service industry.

  • Philippe Deconninck, Managing Director, EXL-Group

    For the past 17 years, as an EPITA Graduate (1992 - Artificial Intelligence), Philippe has been involved in many projects related to B to B .and B to C. That has provided him with great experience in various technical and functional areas. As an expert in BI technologies and especially COGNOS since 1999, he has been speaking all along on projects to address the issues of architecture, design and performance. For 2 years, Philippe has taken a major part in the evolution of EXL GROUP DECISION. The company is a pure player in InfoSphere and Cognos technologies and stands for one of IBM’s partners. Philippe is now at the head of the IBM Cognos Offer Division, which includes management of dedicated skills together with developing BI Competency Centers (BICC) for French Majors.

  • Marc Fresko, Director, Inforesight Ltd

    Marc Fresko is an Information Management consultant. Based in the United Kingdom, but with an international client base, Marc is regarded as a thought leader. Inforesight Limited is an independent consultancy that specialises in Information Management. Inforesight values quality, independence, and high ethical standards in its work for clients around the globe.

  • Cuneyt Goksu, Affiliated Gold Consultant

    Cuneyt Goksu is Principal Consultant with VBT, and has over 20 years Database Management experience working with a number of clients within insurance, banking, financial services and manufacturing sectors mainly with IBM Information Management technologies. Cuneyt worked as DB2 DBA and Systems Programmer for 10 years with large scale customers. Since 2001 he is working as DB2 SME and Consultant for local and overseas customers. His experience includes Database Administration, Data & Enterprise modeling, Performance tuning, systems programming. Cuneyt is a certified IBM solutions expert holds “IBM Certified Database Administrator- DB2 9 for z/OS”, active member of the IDUG and Chairman of European Conference for 2010, leader of Turkish DB2 User Groups, member of PSC of IOD Europe in 2009, IBM Information Champion and IBM Gold Consultant.

  • Stephan Rossbach, Distinguished Engineer Software Technologies, Fritz and Macziol GmbH

    Stephan M. Rossbach is working as an “Distinguished Engineer Software Technologies” for FRITZ & MACZIOL, a leading IBM Business Partner in Germany. He has worked in different job roles in the past, mostly as a consultant, software developer or software architect. During the last 13 years, his projects were basically dealing with different Information Management topics, so he is familiar with almost any kind of information management technologies. Besides of his occupational activities, Stephan M. Rossbach wrote several books (published by Addison-Wesley Longman) and occasionally different technical publications in IT magazines.

  • Roman Schaefer, Conunit GmbH

    Diplom-Kaufmann Roman Schaefer studied International Management at the Universtity of Applied Science in Essen, Germany and at the Hoogeschool, Vliessingen (NL) Mr Roman Schaefer, has been active in the IT Industry for almost the past 20 years. He began his career working in the ERP-Systems arena. For the last 14 years his focal point has been primarily on the business intelligence and information management market were he has been active in various management roles with renowned suppliers. Mr. Schaefer's Knowledge of business intelligence and information management technology is quite profound and he has authored many professional articles in the relevant media. He was with Cognos for several years, at last he was responsible for the Integration of Adaytum after they have been acquired by Cognos Inc in 2003. Mr. Schaefer is presently Managing Director of the conunit gmbh. conunit specializes in Business Intelligence Systems and vendor independent consulting, advising and supporting its customers in the evaluation, conception and realization of corresponding projects through the employment of experienced technology and business project management experts. conunit is one of the leading IBM Business Partners, awarded as the European IBM Cognos Partner of the year in 2009.

  • Darren Silvester, Information Management Architect, Hutchison 3G UK Ltd

    Darren has delivered information to Senior Management in the Telco industry for 14 years, making extensive use of the IBM Toolset, with a focus on metadata. He has delivered metadata from development to Production, providing major measurable business benefits. He has implemented metadata frameworks, standards and practices, and guided development teams in metadata delivery, and development standards using the various different product sets. Darren has also been responsible for tool selection in the Information Management area, and has detailed knowledge of IBM's tools and the other tools available in the Information Management arena. He has hands on experience of the majority of the Infosphere products: IBM Information Server, Foundation Tools, Infosphere CDC, Industry Standard Data Models, Infosphere Warehouse, Metadata Suite.

    Darren is a member of the Customer Advisory Board as well as the Portfolio Advisory Board and Three UK has won the 2009 IBM IOD Innovation Award in the category "Best Data Governance Solution".

  • Ivo-Paul Tummers, JIBES Emerging Information

    Ivo-Paul Tummers, Bsc/MBA. Held several international positions for Aerospace/Defence industry in mechanical engineering. Mid ‘90s he became involved in resource planning for the factories, in an era where middleware was introduced. Out of this perspective he was a founding partner for an IBM software business partner, with early adoption of WebSphere. This practice became one of the leading SOA specialist business partners of IBM. With the vision that process integration could only be successful when trusted information is embraced, Ivo-Paul founded a new practice in 2008. This was confirmed by IBM’s introduction of InfoSphere in the same year. Jibes specializes in data integration with domain expertise for Multi Channel Retail, Consumer Banking and New Media.

  • Luc Vandaele, Partner – Senior Consultant, Suadasoft N.V

    Luc has over 19 years relational database experience within the insurance, banking, financial services and industrial sector. His technical background includes application development, database administration, systems programming, application tuning, DB2 system tuning and DB2 system administration both on z/OS and DB2 for LUW. Luc teaches regularly on topics that fit in with above mentioned experiences and holds several certifications on related topics. He is an IBM Information Management Gold consultant and has been volunteering during the last decade for several organizations with the aim to popularize DB2.

  • Peter Wilhelmi, Senior Manager, Steria Mummert Consulting AG

    After training as an industrial clerk and studies in business administration at Hamburg, Peter started his career in 1986 as System Analyst in a Consulting Company. In the mid nineties he changed his job-related focus to sales. In April 2008 Peter started as Senior Manager and team member in the Solution Centre "Enterprise Information Management Solutions" (EIM) at Steria Mummert Consulting AG. His principle task in the centre is sales for the "Complementary Industries" market, which means for example Retail, Pharmaceuticals, Chemical Industries, Automotive etc. Additionally he manages a BPR-project with one of his customers.

  • Isaac Yassin, Information Management Data Champion

    Isaac is an IBM Information Champion with 34 years of IT background. He is also a member of IDUG (International DB2 User Group) as a volunteer on the European CPC (Conference Planning Committee). Isaac serves as a consultant to many companies and organizations mainly due to his deep interest in infrastructure technologies, and has been involved with many projects dealing with different aspects of business and technology issues. Isaac's involvement with education has also led him to build and conduct DB2 and SQL tailored courses for various customers.
