Bharat is a subject matter expert on IBM’s DataPower SOA appliances including XS40, XI50, XI52, XI50B, XI50Z, XB60, XB62 and the XM70. In his current role as a technical specialist, he advises customers on the enterprise and application architecture to address connectivity, security and governance challenges using DataPower appliances.
George Parapadakis is an ECM Business Value Advocate in the ECM segment team in the UK and is founder and leader of the ECM Strategic Innovation Council in the UK. His role is focused on supporting IBM customers in maximising the value from their investment in ECM technologies, and in providing insight into new market trends such as Enterprise 2.0 and Social Media technologies. An IT professional with 24 years experience, encompassing leading edge technology implementation, software sales and global team management. Glenn began his IT career shortly after finishing his A-levels as an IBM Mainframe operator on twelve hour, seven day shifts. With a view to developing his career more quickly he went into further education doing an HND in Business Information Technology and then a BA Degree in Business Informatics. Following university Glenn joined the software development side of Sodexho, initially as a developer for their catering software and then joining their small specialist consultancy team who provided bespoke applications both internally and for clients. After a number of years at Sodexho Glenn joined Select Business Solutions, a case tool vendor as a presales consultant. Glenn’s primary activities at Select focused on UML/MDA, (Unified Modelling Language, Model Driven Architecture), where he was presenting jointly with the OMG around the world, he also became a leader in reuse initiatives with his experience of Component Based Development and initially component then asset level repositories. Glenn became the UK then World Wide Presales Manager at Select Business Solutions, then in 2005 he joined IBM to focus on MDA as technical professional. With 6 years working within IBM Rational, Glenn is now the Brand Architect team leader. This senior team of consultants are the presales solution architects for strategic named clients or partners for Rational UK. This role aims to transform client initiatives and challenges into a strategy and practical solution based upon IBM Rational capabilities. Glenn has been aligned to IBM partners, primarily system integrators for the last four years. He has in depth experience working with these large and complex partners, supporting bid work, providing enablement and developing trusted advisor status. Glenn has developed a number of successful ‘Centers of Excellence’, with partners allowing them to showcase their services capability underpinned by IBM Software Group solutions. Glenn is based in the South West, (Bristol) and for relaxing enjoys racing sports motorbikes, currently owning a Fireblade and RC51. He organizes motorbike trips to Europe every year and is hoping to one day ride the Stelvio pass in the Alps.
John provides technical guidance and advice for the IBM Rational AppScan family of products as well as IBM Rational Policy Tester. He has been working in the information security arena for more than a decade and is a regular speaker at IBM and Industry events.
Neal Middlemore has over 14 years experience in requirements management, this encompasses the associated disciplines of change management of requirements and validation/verification. Neal is an avionics systems engineer by background and has been working with the DOORS product for almost 10 years.
Paula White started work as a programmer in C++ and Smalltalk working primarily on product development and deployment of middleware and business process management software. At Cambridge Technology Partners, who were part of the DSDM Consortium, she championed and used many leading software development practices including large amounts of direct involvement from the business, iterative development, use case analysis, architectural approaches, testing strategies and retrospectives. Subsequently she worked as the product consultant for UML requirements, analysis and design courses at one of the UK leading training organisations – QA training. Here she authored course material and trained other trainers. In 2002 she joined Rational which is now part of IBM. At IBM she works both as a Rational Brand Architect leading the solution design of development environments and also as a Technical Specialist in collaborative lifecycle management, requirements and asset management.
Steve Rooks is an Electrical and Electronics Engineering with 20+ years experience working with embedded and complex systems. He’s been actively using Model Driven Development with UML (and its predecessors!) for more than 15 years and has worked for Rational for more than 10 years.
Steve lives in Twickenham, London with his wife and 4 year old daughter. Professionally he has worked as a technical consultant for IBM Rational since 2000, where he is a certified scrum master specialising in agile project delivery, modeling and patterns based engineering. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, and also studying, teaching and practising Taichi. He has written several articles covering the latest features in Rational Software Architect 7.5 and 8, as well as articles discussing various extensions to Software Architect, RequisitePro and Team Concert.
Simon is an IBM-certified IT specialist with 13 years of experience of pre-sales consultancy, business development, project, technical and account management. He provides technical expertise in pre-sales engagements around IBM Rational solutions for strategic planning and business optimisation; this involves architecting solutions, demonstrating tools, and becoming a trusted technical advisor.

Simon has responsibility for the Rational Quality Management testing products including Rational Quality Manager, Rational Functional Tester and Rational Performance Tester. Anthony Kesterton is a Technical Professional in the Analysis/Design and Construction practice for IBM Rational in the United Kingdom. He has extensive experience in IT development including 19 years teaching, mentoring and using various IBM Rational tools, as an end-user and as an IBM Rational employee. He works with customers to improve their usage of development processes, requirements management, planning, version control and UML modeling. He is a regular participant on jazz.net. He is co-author of the IBM Redbook “Building SOA Solutions Using the Rational SDP”.
Over the last 10 years I have helped many customers to design, configure and implement Software Configuration Managements systems. Previously I spent 10 years writing real time embedded software for the Power System industry. My current focus is around the exciting Jazz Platform. I am a keen advocate of Application Lifecycle Management and how it can really help customers to scale their development capabilities. I love technology, whether it be the latest electronic gadget, a new approach to the software development lifecycle or adding Electronics to my Mk1 Golf – each has its own challenge that helping to solve makes me tick.
