Dan Kelaher, PhD, CPE, is a hardware Human Factors (HF) Engineer and is the lead of the IBM Systems and Technology Group (STG) hardware human factors team in the Hardware Experience Design Group. Dan has been working on the processor installation tool project since its inception several years ago. Dan developed the user experience design requirements for the processor installation tool.
Tim Meserth is another hardware HF engineer in system x and has provided guidance along the way on the project.
Jim Osika is a quality engineer for the System x Integrated Supply Chain organization that develops and drives quality improvements with our vendors. Jim led the effort to develop the business case for the processor installation tool development in System x.
Jim Drake is a mechanical engineer in the System x Mechanical Development Group. Jim conceived of the novel rotational design common to all of the IBM processor tools. Jim is now the mechanical building block owner for processor installation tools for System x Development.
Mark Lindsay is also a mechanical engineer in the System x Mechanical Development Group. Mark led the design of the second generation of the tool which was developed for the mainstream two socket servers.
Other engineers who were instrumental in the design and development of the processor installation tools were Scott Womble, Dick Barina, Donnie Moorefield, and Derek Schmidt.
