Enterprise Asset Management Stream
Extending asset life-span, maximizing ROI/ROA, increasing equipment up-time and output quality, optimizing labor efficiency and improving the management of asset-related parts, material inventory, and cost control measures are just some of the topics and issues that will be presented in this stream that will be composed of six EAM sub-tracks. Special focus will be on best practices, implementation and upgrades, and taking a deep look into how IBM Maximo Asset Management’s industry-specific functionality is addressing the needs of a multitude of markets. The stream will also be composed of a series of functional and technical sessions, blanketing everything from mobile to scheduling to report writing and we are extremely pleased to once again integrate the Maximo Utility Working Group (MUWG), celebrating its 12th year, into the 2010 Pulse curriculum.
Service Assurance for Service Providers Stream
This track will show Service Providers how IBM helps create an integrated, automated Service Assurance environment. Effective network and service assurance enables control of the entire communication and content management infrastructure, and visibility into how key network and application elements impact service quality and delivery. Sessions will highlight IBM Tivoli’s latest service quality, event and performance management capabilities by sharing best practices and telecommunications client experiences.

The service desk delivers critical support to the entire organization by keeping key business systems and services available. As complexity increases, issue resolution becomes more time-consuming, specialized, and costly. With tight budgets and constrained resources, automation is the key to maximizing the availability of business-critical services. In this track we invite you to share innovations in delivering service request, catalog, and incident management. Of particular interest are solutions that deliver end-to-end process automation across all aspects of service management.
Asset, Change and Configuration Management
Businesses put a lot of effort into understanding and controlling their IT and physical assets. Knowing what you have—and how it relates to other elements in your infrastructure—is critical for efficient change management, impact analysis, and comprehensive compliance. In this sub-track we invite customers to present innovative solutions that leverage and/or integrate application discovery and dependency mapping, a Change Management System, and process automation for incident, problem, change, configuration and release management.
Server, Endpoint and Application Provisioning and Automation
Automation of management and provisioning tasks improves labor efficiency, increases speed and flexibility of changes and deployments, and reduces unplanned outages resulting from changes to the IT infrastructure. In this track we invite you to share how your implementation enables you to manage more with less while improving operational responsiveness and availability. IBM solutions of interest include Server, Device and Application Provisioning. Other topics of interest include: automating software provisioning, normalizing release processes, and streamlining compliance processes.

This track will focus on optimizing security investments, achieving a desired security posture and addressing business and regulatory requirements. Presentations will share new developments in IBM's approach and discuss strategic risk management across IT service management processes and capabilities.

Essential to every organization is the ability to innovate and grow while managing costs. Technology is a critical enabler of this innovation and growth, yet IT infrastructure is reaching a breaking point. Industrializing the data center with Cloud-delivered service management addresses the headaches of integrating and maintaining servers, storage and software, and allows organizations to scale up or down dynamically. This track provides valuable Cloud Computing education, presents IBM capabilities and brings them to life by sharing actual client examples. Presentations will cover IBM CloudBurst, Cloud Computing best practices, adoption roadmaps and implementation success stories.
Energy & Efficiency Track
Clients, partners, regulators, employees and community groups alike are driving organizations to become more efficient by addressing energy, environmental and sustainability concerns. "Going green" can yield real, immediate and long-term cost savings. This track will cover leading practices and innovative technologies for energy efficiency, illustrating how to maximize computing power and performance while minimizing the energy footprint. IBM experts, IBM Business Partners and clients will share the insights and hands-on experience that can help other organizations take advantage of more sustainable business opportunities and find the value in green.
Asset Management Best Practices Track
What is your maintenance management strategy for production, facilities, and transportation assets? In this track we are looking for certain techniques, processes, activities, and or incentives deemed to be extremely effective/efficient in delivering world-class maintenance at your plant or facility. Presentations should highlight quantitative and qualitative ROI and Return on Asset (ROA) data such as equipment uptime, inventory carrying costs, labor utilization, and regulatory compliance. Other areas may include training, application consolidation, integration to condition monitoring, and organizational structure and function distribution.
Implementation/Upgrades Track
In this track we are looking for IBM Maximo Asset Management version 6 or 7 customers to share their implementation or upgrade story from legacy versions. We are particularly interested in hearing about the planning, tools and tasks involved, post implementation/upgrade review, and the improvements you have leveraged in architecture, functionality, security, and scalability.
Maximo Functional Sessions Track
The functional sessions are designed to be co-presented by an IBM Maximo subject matter expert and a Maximo client or group of users on a panel to provide a dual perspective: learning and training from the Maximo presenter, and real-world experiences from the client. Areas of interest may include: IBM Maximo solutions for mobile, linear, spatial, navigator, scheduling, asset configuration manager, service provider, service request manager, industry solutions, and Tivoli Asset Management for IT. Clients submitting an abstract will be mapped with the appropriate IBM subject matter expert.

The technical sessions are designed to be co-presented by an IBM Maximo subject matter expert and a Maximo client or group of users on a panel to provide a dual perspective: learning and training from the Maximo presenter, and real-world experiences from the client. MUWG Track
IBM is pleased to announce that the Maximo Utility Working Group (MUWG) will once again be integrated into the Pulse curriculum. Celebrating its 12th year, the MUWG agenda will focus on electric, gas, water and wastewater presentations and incorporate the new Maximo Supply Chain Users Group presentations. Waves of change brought by deregulation, globalization, restructuring, increasing competition, and new environmental/regulatory requirements have brought new challenges to this industry and put business operations at center stage.
