Leading Practices in Asset Management from IBM's Asset Management Center of Excellence
Presenters: Jeff Kurkowski and Don Barry, Asset Management Solutions Executives, IBM GBS

There are many authorities who write about or address the topic of best practices in asset management. However, they are often a disjointed set of examples and/or only cover a specific topic or area of asset management. This session takes a different approach to looking at best practices using an organized framework based on a proven set of models from IBM's Asset Management Center of Excellence (AMcoe). Since practices that may be "best for one" are not always "best for everyone," we will present a set of leading practices that if applied correctly, will be the “best” practices for a given organization. The seminar will focus on three areas: Asset Classes, Organizations, and Total Lifecycles. Attendees will understand the differences in five asset classes and the unique characteristics in each that should be considered. They will also learn to understand an organization’s maturity and apply leading practices in ten strategic areas. For more mature organizations, the audience will also learn how the application of the correct leading practices for their enterprises can guide them to a more mature approach to Total Lifecycle Asset Maintenance strategies. All three areas will be covered within the context of proven and proprietary AMcoe Leading Practice Models which provide a framework and organized approach to addressing leading practices in Asset Management.

This course is intended for plant executives, plant and facility managers, maintenance managers, operational managers, IT managers and analysts.
