Use and maintain
IBM® Tivoli® NetView® for z/OS® helps maintain the highest degree of availability of your System z™ networks.

It offers an extensive set of tools for managing and maintaining complex, multi-vendor, multiplatform networks and systems from a single point of control.
- Provides key capabilities and advanced functions related to networking and automation, enhanced enterprise integration, customer time-to-value and ease of use, as well as management functions that work in cooperation with other products
- Improves network efficiency and increases system availability
- Extends centralized management for mainframe TCP/IP and SNA network environments, and offers advanced automation and a set of UIs to meet every user's need
- Reduces or eliminates the need for operator intervention to deal with system messages, and manages larger networks, more resources and more systems with fewer resources and personnel. Control can be consolidated at a single console if desired.
- The newest release, NetView for z/OS V5.4, strengthens its management of z/OS sysplex environments, supporting discovery and monitoring of TCP/IP subplexes, NetView domains, Telnet servers and ports, Central Processing Complexes (CPCs), Logical Partitions (LPARs), and Open Systems Adapter (OSA) and Hipersockets interfaces
- V5.4 provides additional IP management capabilities, including enhanced packet and Open Systems Adapter trace management, and support for subnet and z/OS resources discovered by IBM Tivoli Network Manager.
- V5.4 expands NetView’s integration with the Tivoli Enterprise Portal (TEP), adding an array of new and expanded workspaces and views allowing cross-product links to the OMEGAMON XE suite of products for consolidated availability and performance management.
- V5.4 also extends NetView’s automation capabilities, adding a new Command Revision Table for managing z/OS commands, automation of Systems Management Facility (SMF) type 30 records, the addition of a global keep stage to the NetView Pipes language, and the ability to specify that messages with selected z/OS message descriptor codes will be treated as action messages.
