Tivoli Netcool Configuration Manager automates network configuration management tasks, controls network device access and ensures network policy compliance.

Network operators and administrators can automate routine network configuration management tasks, enhance network security by controlling access by users, devices and commands, and maintain the real-time state of the network.

Allows network device configuration (1.28MB) through multiple modes, supporting users of various skill levels, from expert network engineers to the novice operator.
Manages the complete device configuration life-cycle - baseline, search, configure, test, approve and track.
Provides an intuitive user interface so that all relevant device information (e.g. hardware, configuration history, changes and activities) and frequently performed functions are no more than a click away.
Limit user access to part of a device configuration or selected commands - an essential feature for virtualized or multi-service environments, or where there is a need for greater device control.
Provides a reusable policy framework for configuration policy validations of regulatory mandates (PDF, 696KB), security and operational policies (e.g. engineering standards).
Enables rapid integration with 3rd party apps e.g. IT automation, CMDB and network management, help desk, as well as enterprise workflow. Every configuration function is exposed through open APIs.
Operates on a variety of server platforms including Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® and Sun® Solaris® as well as in a virtual VMWare environment. It also requires Oracle® relational database to be installed for persistent data storage.
