Tivoli AF/REMOTE has been superseded by Tivoli System Automation for Integrated Operations Management. |
IBM Tivoli AF/REMOTE® is an outboard automation solution for secure remote access to mainframe and distributed systems regardless of location. IBM Tivoli AF/REMOTE provides integrated access to these systems via TCP/IP network and dial-up, so remote administrators gain the same TN3270 console emulation functions available to data center operators. IBM Tivoli AF/REMOTE also provides automatic notification and escalation of problems via email and wireless devices. As an outboard solution, IBM Tivoli AF/REMOTE can integrate monitoring and automation packages and frameworks, while also automating tasks that can’t be initiated by an MVS-based system itself.
IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS is the primary IBM Tivoli automation product for building an end-to-end autonomic computing solution. With the acquisition of Candle Corporation, a number of additional automation products from the AF family were added to the IBM Tivoli portfolio. The AF products will continue to be available for customers primarily focused on mainframe console automation, integration with OMEGAMON data, and outboard automation. The AF family of products will continue to be supported and enhanced to keep them current. Features, advantages and benefits| Features | Advantages | Benefits |
