Pursuing integration to improve the customer experience
I am new to Tivoli software, and already convinced I joined the team at an exciting time. We have an ambitious agenda for improving your customer experience, and I hope to meet many of you at Tivoli Technical User Conferences so we can discuss our plans in person.
We realize that with the increasing complexity of application and infrastructure environments, you're not using our products in an isolated fashion anymore, but in the context of IT service management processes. You need our component products to work well together in the implementation of your automation tasks. To meet that need, we are aggressively pursuing integration at three levels:
- Processintegrating our automation tools in the context of standards-based processes and best practices
- Dataproviding a configuration management database, offering a common source of authoritative information about configuration items and their relationships
- User interfaceoffering an integrated enterprise service management console with a portal view for resource status, incidents and events
To accomplish this, we can leverage all of IBM's integration infrastructure and tools.
One of our top priorities is to improve the consumability of these productsmaking them easier to install, configure and use throughout their life cycles. We have changed our development process to take an outside-in view, based on customer roles and tasks.
We're already working with customers to integrate deployment, patch management, availability management and much more. We look forward to helping more of you reduce complexity through integration and automation, and by leveraging best practices.
Our objective is to help you manage and optimize your IT infrastructure to support your business goals, ultimately transforming your enterprise to On Demand.
If you haven't already done so, I encourage you to register to attend the Tivoli Technical User Conference in Dallas (May 10-13) or Munich, Germany (May 23-26). I'll be speaking at both locations, and several members of our development team will be offering more than 100 technical breakout sessions to discuss Tivoli products and applications.
I hope to see you there!
