Learn to use IBM Tivoli Asset Manager for IT 7.1 to plan for, acquire, deploy, and retire IT assets. Through laboratory exercises you will learn the functions related to IT asset management and phases of the IT asset life cycle management, including acquisition, deployment, and retirement.
Objectives
After completing this course, you should be able to accomplish the following tasks:
- Create IT item masters and records
- Apply standard configurations (item assembly structures)
- Manage vendors and contracts
- Create, update, and delete purchase, lease, warranty, and software contracts
- Set up and use terms and conditions
- Design requisitions for assets
- Construct requests for quotations (RFQs)
- Make RFQs from purchase requests
- Create contracts from RFQs
- Receive IT assets and deploy them to a user
- Manage installation, additions, moves, and changes
- Maintain software license compliance using the Discovery and Reconciliation applications
- Retire an IT asset

Required skills/knowledge
You should have Web application server (J2EE) and Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) experience.
