Course description
This 2 day course is designed to address all aspects of configuring the customizable components of RAD dashboards. Students will undertake practical exercises throughout the course, built to teach the foundations of creating dashboards and utilizing the various components within RAD.
The Advanced Dashboards course focuses on step-by-step use of charts, tables, custom canvases and RAD layout. Students will start with a pre-installed copy of RAD and OMNIbus; no installation will be done in the course.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, each student will gain an understanding of how to create a dashboard application using RAD. The class is based considerably on describing a set of functionality then implementing it in each students' environment. Students are strongly encouraged to experiment with the feature sets as they progress through the course. Students will:
- Understand how to display each of the components in the dashboards course to the user.
- Configure charts in RAD.
- Configure Tables/Scorecards in RAD.
- Create custom canvases in RAD and understand how to present these to various users within RAD.

Who will benefit from this course
Network and systems management developers/engineers who will be required to create and administer management dashboards using RAD.
Required skills/knowledge
- Netcool/OMNIbus proficiency is mandatory
- An understanding of web development skills is highly recommended - consisting of HTML and XML essentials
- Solid fundamentals in UNIX environment administration is highly recommended
- Understanding the fundamental concepts of database construction-SQL is recommended
- Netcool/RAD Fundaments course or equivalent proficiency
