This course provides an orientation to IBM Maximo applications, processes, and interrelationships for technical consultants who will be implementing Maximo in an EAM environment.
Objectives
After completing this course, participants should be able to accomplish the following:
- Develop basic components of a multisite/multiorganizational environment
- Set up basic security records
- Create and use people records with related records
- Create and define asset and location hierarchies
- Create and apply meters and meter groups
- Create company and company master records
- Create a simple workflow process
- Move a purchasing record through the entire process
- Move through the work management process
- Move through a basic service management process
- Develop preventive maintenance records, including PMs and Condition Monitoring points
- Set up key inventory elements for an organization

Required skills/knowledge
You should have:
- Complete familiarity with and comfort working in Microsoft Windows environment
- Demonstrated experience with the implementation of enterprise-level suites of applications
- Knowledge of maintenance practices in enterprise environments
- Basic SQL knowledge; select statements, where clauses
- Fundamental database design and administration knowledge
To participate in both the lectures and labs for this course, the student workstation must meet the following hardware requirements:
- Minimum of 256 MB of memory
- Windows 2000 or XP
- Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.
- 128-bit encryption
- Versions of Internet Explorer prior to version 6.0 and Windows 2000 must have the High Encryption Packs installed
- Minimum 30Kbps dedicated Internet bandwidth
