Course description
The five-day IBM Tivoli Netcool/Proviso Advanced Level I course will prepare you to be able to assist an Expert-Level implementer with a real-world deployment and integration of Netcool/Proviso. Modules in this course are presented by lecture, practical application, lab activities, and case studies. You will learn to install the product in a non-default environment, configure inventory, change global web-portal settings, create reporting groups, add thresholds, and configure scheduled reports.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Install IBM Tivoli Netcool/Proviso using non-default parameters.
- Verify the successful installation of IBM Tivoli Netcool/Proviso Dataload, DataChannel, DataMart, database and SilverStream components.
- Add an SNMP configuration.
- Configure and run an inventory profile.
- Understand inventory events.
- List and describe the contents of the inventory file structure.
- Describe the contents of the inventory-subelements.txt file.
- Describe bulk meta data collection.
- Explain bulk metric data collection.
- Configure bulk collection.
- Describe the Universal Bulk Adapter (UBA).
- Create report users.
- Associate predefined reports to a report user.
- Configure collection groups.
- Configure reporting groups.
- Configure static and baseline thresholds.
- Send threshold violation traps to a destination host or to a log file.
- Configure DataView user settings using the web portal.
- Add a configuration link to a user’s web portal.
- Configure scheduled reports.
