Learn to successfully implement TADDM 7.1 in a customer environment. Hands-on exercises provide participants the opportunity to install, configure and customize a typical TADDM deployment. An overview of the discovery process is also provided. You learn troubleshooting steps and techniques as well as methods for improving performance of the TADDM discoveries.
Objectives
After completing this course, students will be able to:
- Describe IBM Tivoli Application Dependency Discovery Manager (TADDM) features.
- Install and configure TADDM.
- Perform discoveries and use bulkload to populate the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Describe Enterprise CMDB (eCMDB) configuration.
- Troubleshoot discovery and GUI issues.
- List parameters that can be modified to improve performance.
- Use custom server extensions.
- Define and use extended attributes.
- Describe discovery library adapters (DLAs) and create files for use in populating the CMDB.

To participate in both the lectures and labs for this course, your workstation must meet the following hardware requirements:
- Minimum of 256 MB of memory
- Windows 2000 or XP
- Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.
- 128-bit encryption
- Versions of Internet Explorer prior to version 6.0 and Windows 2000 must have the High Encryption Packs installed
- Minimum 30Kbps dedicated Internet bandwidth
