Course description
This course is a product overview. The IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center is an open storage infrastructure management solution and a part of the IBM TotalStorage Open Software Family. The IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center is designed to help reduce the effort of managing complex storage infrastructures, improve storage capacity utilization, and improve administrative efficiency. It is designed to enhance a storage infrastructure so that it can respond effectively to on-demand storage needs.
Objectives
After completing this course, students should be able to accomplish the following:
- Identify the manager components and the benefits provided by the IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center.
- Use the Navigation Tree to display information in the content pane of the GUI.
- List features that are common throughout the TotalStorage Productivity Center interface.
- Describe the Fabric Manager functions, GUI, and work zones.
- Explain the Disk Manager functions, including the CIM agent interface, discovery steps, and integrated volume configuration.
- Describe Data Manager components and functions, including data collection, profiles, and monitoring.
