Course description
This training course is designed for those new to using or managing IBM Tivoli AF/Operator. Students will learn what automation is and how to implement basic automation concepts in their shop. Topics include AF/Operator terminology, control and communication, and trap writing.
Objectives
After completing this course, students should be able to accomplish the following:
- Describe automation facilities provided by IBM Tivoli AF/Operator.
- Describe automation terminology.
- Start, stop, and control AF from the MVS console.
- Code TRAPs to implement event-based automation.
- Demonstrate how to issue AF commands.
- Write automation routines using command files and Rexx

Required skills/knowledge
