The tool allows you to input not only your existing or expected levels of people resources for comparing with a similar implementation using IDS, but also the hardware resources and associated costs. Inputs range from installation setups, upgrades and ongoing administration parameters which include monitoring, performance tuning, change management, backups and archiving parameters.
Algorithms in this tool have been taken from research at IBM, as well as experience and feedback from partners and customers who have been using multiple database servers in their companies.
