"Becoming part of the IBM SmartCloud community opened many opportunities. With our solution on the IBM Cloud, we think we can convert a lot of them into new business." - Bob Miller, chief executive officer, CloudPrime
Founded in 2010 and based in San Francisco, IBM Business Partner CloudPrime, Inc. brings application messaging to the cloud. The company’s Messaging as a Service (MaaS) solution helps organizations reduce the costs of sharing data with partners across applications and locations. The solution’s architecture addresses demanding customer requirements by merging guaranteed-delivery technology, message traceability and multilevel security into a high-availability solution that satisfies regulatory requirements.
As businesses increasingly interconnect with partners, application messaging helps them reduce costs, eliminate friction and deliver greater value to customers.
By deploying its messaging fabric on the IBM SmartCloud™ Enterprise platform, IBM Business Partner CloudPrime helps companies expand business-to-business (B2B) networks quickly and cost-effectively.
The combined CloudPrime and IBM solution helps customers reduce messaging costs by up to 95 percent while complying with data-security regulations in multiple industries.

The value of application messaging
To keep up with the speed of business, companies must form efficient connections with their partners and share data quickly and securely across applications and sites. However, many businesses cannot afford to continue expanding their IT networks with physical additions. CloudPrime capitalized on these challenges by creating a cloud-based application-messaging fabric.
The MaaS solution serves as a universal messaging backbone, enabling fast, reliable and secure data transport between applications, systems, services and mobile devices. The solution also saves effort and expense, using lightweight client software called CloudPrime Connectors to integrate with customers’ existing networks and exchange data across the cloud. In some cases, the solution helped customers achieve 100 percent ROI in less than 90 days. Further, its highly reliable delivery and encryption technologies support compliance with regulations and standards in the financial, healthcare, retail and government sectors.
Despite bringing so much value to the market, CloudPrime recognized an opportunity for continued growth and improvement. To position itself to win more business from the growing number of enterprises moving to the cloud, CloudPrime wanted to tap into the superior resilience and data-processing capabilities of IBM Cloud technology.
Extending networks through the cloud
Working with dedicated IBM resources, CloudPrime deployed its solution on the IBM SmartCloud Enterprise platform. Engineered to support high-availability and disaster recovery scenarios, the IBM technology provides CloudPrime and its customers with a more robust and reliable environment for the MaaS solution.
Using the solution on the IBM SmartCloud Enterprise platform, even the most complex enterprises can benefit by:
• Deploying network endpoints in less than 30 minutes
• Safeguarding data with multilevel security
• Using multiple data-delivery paths to prevent data loss
• Allowing sites to exchange data in near-real time and batch modes
• Extending networks without new equipment or more staff
When CloudPrime achieved the IBM Ready for SmartCloud Services designation in March 2012, the company saw it as a competitive step forward. “Becoming part of the IBM SmartCloud community opened many opportunities for us,” says Bob Miller, chief executive officer of CloudPrime. “With the value of our solution on the IBM Cloud platform, we think we can convert a lot of them into new business.”
• Reduces customers’ messaging costs by up to 95 percent
• Boosts competitiveness with a robust, globally supported platform
• Strengthens support for regulations and standards across industries
